Roger Haines
Roger was 51 at the start of the race and saw this challenge as a major milestone in his life. He joined The Skiff Club, Teddington in 2004, sculling & racing  traditional fixed seat clinker built boats & ultimately became Club Captain.

He works as an independent Management Consultant providing business system and programme management advice to the likes of BP International & BG Group. This together with his background in Aerospace and Composite Engineering stood him in good stead to build and equip the boat as well as planning and managing the myriad of activities required to make the challenge a success.

Eager to redeem himself after injury forced retirement in the 2009 Indian Ocean Race, Roger finally realised his ambition to row an ocean.
